MStar blabs about the transistion from a vegan junk food life to a raw foods lifestyle & the relapses... July 23, 2007*****

"You know, changing anything in your life before you are ready is something you may have to question for yourself. I personally think it's much healthier and less shocking to your body to do the transition slowly, especially if you are relapsing.

"The idea of healthy living isn't to take things away from yourself, it's to add healthy things into your life. If you are limiting yourself, the part of you that wants to be free is going to rebel. There is no need for inner rebellion when you can have inner peace. I've found it respectful to my body to give it what it wants. 'okay body, I'm gonna eat this thing you are craving... and it's okay.' Or if it's not my body, but some obsessive energy I would like to surrender to (right or wrong), but something I know is bad for my body I'll say, 'okay body, I'm gonna eat this [og] ice cream... but I'll make you a deal, I'm gonna go for a long walk later to work out tha extra energy it doses you with.'

"We can't all be saints... but we can admit to ourselves where we flail a little and do our best always.

"It is also very important to remember that WE ARE NOT OUR BODIES. We have bodies; it's fun. But we are not our bodies. So if your body wants something that your soul wouldn't choose for itself or knows is "wrong" then I advise granting yourself the humility to do what is best for your body. It has much stored up information for you that will only be uncovered by listening to it. We often times think that we are higher, better, smarter than our bodies; or in some way put our soul before our body (you can see this often with more spiritually advanced people, or even vegetarians and vegans)... but this in an imbalance.

"And sometimes there are special moments that serve our highest good (and the highest good of others) but we miss out because we deny ourselves say, pizza. I know it's gross on so many levels, but a simple check in with my body led me to actually eat pizza over quinoa and avocado one day, and it lead to a catapult in my growth and THIS SHOW! I met people who I wouldn't have otherwise... and it changed my life and my outlook.

"It takes humility and grace to not be attached to what you eat, do, think, believe. I'm not saying attachments are bad. I just think they too have their time and space.

"Blessing on your growth: )

"Don't forget to forgive those places where you "mess up" : )"
